Yves Fanjas is a graduate from Arts & Métiers Graduate School of Engineering, the Institut de Contrôle de Gestion (Accounting Management Institute) and holds a Master’s of Science degree from Cornell University.
He begins his career in 1976 at the Saint-Gobain research center in Pont-à-Mousson. In 1978, he joins CERCA, the Company for the Study and Manufacturing of Nuclear Fuels, where he holds various positions in charge of the development of a new fuel for research reactors and of technical relations with clients. He then takes over as the head of R&D at FBFC, the French-Belgian Fuel Manufacturing Company, an AREVA subsidiary, in 1993 before becoming Technical and R&D Director of the Fuel Branch in 1998. In 2001, he is appointed Quality and Environment Director for the Fuel Sector. From 2003, he is VP R&D for the Fuel Sector. In January 2007, he becomes Deputy VP of AREVA Research & Innovation, in charge of innovation, expertise management and knowledge management. On January 1, 2011, he joins the AREVA Training Department as VP Technical & Scientific Training.
On November 1, 2013, Yves Fanjas is appointed Director of I2EN.
