Claude DUVAL is Expert in Nuclear Civil Engineering.
Graduated from Ecole Polytechnique, promotion 1984, he holds a PhD in Mechanics of Materials from Ecole Centrale Paris in 1992.
He worked for a few years in structural calculation, then specialized in earthquake analysis and external aggressions.
In 1999, he participated in the French scientific mission of the AFPS (French Association of Earthquake Engineering) on the deadly earthquake of August 17, 1999 in Izmit in Turkey.
From 2006 to 2013, he headed the Geosciences and Civil Engineering Department of EDF at AIX in Provence.
Since 2010, he is chairman of the AFCEN Civil Engineering Sub-Commission, bringing together specialists from the French nuclear industry in civil engineering design and construction. He leads the publication of the RCC-CW code.
He represents EDF on the board of directors of the AFGC (Association Française de Génie Civil).
He has participated in various missions to promote the French nuclear projects in China, India and Poland.
He gives conferences on popularizing AFCEN codes in INSTN, ENSAM, ENSTA and PFC training.
